Fair value mechanism

How fair value works

Every player on FanShare carries a fair value — a price computed from what he actually did on the court. No opinions, no projections, no hype: real box scores in, one number out.

The formula looks at a player's recent games — scoring, playmaking, defense — and turns that production into a dollar figure through a fixed, published formula. Big games move fair value up. Quiet stretches cool it down. A player who doesn't play doesn't drift on rumors — his fair value simply holds until he plays again.

Three things make the number trustworthy: it's production-only (what happened, never what might), it updates on a fixed cadence from official box scores, and the formula is public — you can check the math behind any price on the receipt inside each player's market page.

The full evaluation write-up — the exact window, the pillars, and the worked examples — is being authored by our basketball team and will live here. What's live today: every market page already shows the receipt behind its fair value.
